There Is So Much to Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania

Yes, there is indeed a lake called Lake Ariel. And it is within the village limits of Lake Ariel, PA, a part of Lake Township, Wayne County. The lake itself is a respectable 239 acres large and many homes enjoy being close by to enjoy the views and have access to typical water activities.

The area of Wayne County that is served by the Lake Ariel post office is expansive. When my window cleaning customers tell me they live in ‘Lake Ariel’, I understand that this could mean the small village itself, nearby Hamlin, and even the not-so-nearby village of Mount Cobb in neighboring Lackawanna County. There are several communities that are within the 18436 zip code. One of the first questions I ask is ‘do you live in The Hideout’. This is a large, gated community with over 3200 homes. One can drive literally miles from one of the entry gates to get to some of the remotest homes within. It takes planning on the part of contractors when visiting there due to extra travel time. Also, there is the smaller but still sizable Wallenpaupack Lake Estates with a little less than half the homes found in The Hideout. Several other smaller communities are in the 18436 zip code and thus consider themselves in Lake Ariel and have the pleasure of bordering the 2nd largest lake in Pennsylvania, Lake Wallenpaupack.

With the aforementioned developments within the Lake Ariel zip code, there are many long-time local residents as well as ‘transplants’ or those who come to Lake Ariel for the weekend or vacation. We clean the windows and other things on a regular basis for plenty of locals who live there all year. This includes farmhouses on back roads and newer homes with chalet windows and skylights! Notably, it is common for those who come to Lake Ariel specifically for rest and relaxation or just plain fun appreciate finding a company that they can trust to perform window cleaning, power washing, gutter cleaning and so forth. The challenge can be that they don’t know who is reputable and some have been quite frankly disappointed by contractors who didn’t measure up to a reasonable degree with what they advertised they can do.

Lake Ariel is a special area in northeastern Pennsylvania, as it has a generous variety of geography from lakes and streams to hills with a view of the Moosic Mountains to the north and west and the Poconos nearby to the south. Despite it being a relatively ‘quiet’ location compared to more populated areas of New York and New Jersey, there is some fun and activity to be had. Swimming, boating, water skiing, fishing (ice fishing included in the winter), and a zoo are some examples.
